Description
FibreMDU Virtual Quattro Converter
Overview:
GI-Fibre Distribution
Global Invacom (GI) has designed, developed and manufactured a fibre optic based distribution system (GI-Fibre) to solve many of the issues encountered in using coaxial based multi home Satellite and Terrestrial systems.
The FibreMDU Virtual quattro, connects to a single fibre optic cable from a FibreMDU Optical LNB. This is done either through a network of passive optical splitters (PON) or directly from the LNB (with attenuation).
Converts a fibre optic source into 4 fixed polarity satellite signals.
Each Virtual Quattro provides 4 fixed polarity LNB outputs (HL, HH, VL, VH) ideal for multiswitches.
● The FibreMDU system distributes digital satellite signals to 32 points over a single fibre.
● Passive Optical Network (PON) connected directly to an Optical LNB (GI-O’LNB).
● An MDU Optical Convertor (Virtual Twin, Virtual Quad or Virtual Quatro) is located at each of the points connected, this converts the signals back to a form that all digital satellite STBs expect to receive. Each end user is able to receive all the services and programming offered by the broadcaster just as if they were connected to their own antenna.
Features:
● Converts optical signals from a FIBRE LNB to IF
● Provides 4x Fixed polarity LNB outputs (HL, HH, VL, VH) from 1 fibre optic connection
● Plug and Play
● Powered by separate mains PSU (included): 230 VAC / 20 VDC
● Input frequency band for vertical polarization: 950~3000MHz
● Input frequency band for horizontal polarization: 3400~5450MHz
● Optical RLR: 20dB
● Aggregate Equivalent RF Power: -60dB~-20dB
● Nominal SAT transponder levels (min/max): -80 / -40 dBm
● Nominal output level (per transponder, min/max): -65 / -25 dBm
● Return Loss: 10dB
● Noise Fig. @ Max. Gain: 4dB
● Single FC/PC optical input
● Outputs: 4 x “F”
USES of Global Fibre MDU® Virtual Quattro
● For converting a fibre optic source into 4 fixed polarity LNB outputs (HL, HH, VL, VH) ideal for multiswitches.
Key Benefits of Using GI-Fibre…
● Only 1 trunk cable vs. 4 or 5 coaxials
● The signals distributed are immune to Electromagnetic Interference
● Only 1 fibre cable required per home – regardless of the number of STBs or tuners
● Signal losses are minimal compared with coaxial – distance is no longer such a constraint
● Simple system design
● No requirement for Earth Bonding of the fibre optic cabling
● Greatly reduced installation time
● No complicated system configuration
● All fibre cables can be pre-terminated if required providing ‘plug & play’ installation
